Other Investments

We have a portfolio of smaller investments, which include international equities mostly using experienced global equity fund managers and private equity funds which are focussed on the internet, software, healthcare, consumer and financial technology industries in established and emerging markets.  Additional investments are held in an Irish venture capital fund, a European property fund and in other private equities.

In 2019, we completed the liquidation process for the Swiss company which owned our interest in a shopping centre in Geneva.  Our original investment in the Lancy shopping centre was made in 2010 at a cost of €4m. We made a further investment into the holding structure of €1m during 2017 bringing our total investment to €5m. Our total receipts from this investment were €8.4m realising a profit of €3.4m.
